Advanced Dynamic Energy Pricing and Tariffs (ADEPT)
The ADEPT project aims to investigate how the information potentially available from smart meters may be exploited to the advantage of both the distribution network operator and the customer. We are looking for the best overall outcome in terms of energy demand reduction, not the best ‘engineering solution’.
The University of Oxford and Brunel University have been funded through the EPSRC’s Transforming Energy Demand Through Digital Innovation programme for a project exploiting high performance computing and large-scale data mining to develop understanding of Time-of-Use tariffs – Advanced Dynamic Electricity Pricing and Tariffs (ADEPT).
From Oxford, ADEPT brings together expertise from the Oxford e-Research Centre and the Lower Carbon Futures group at the Environmental Change Institute; and from Brunel, the Brunel Institute of Power Systems (BIPS) and the School of Engineering and Design.
