His main research areas include: Physical Oceanography, Data Assimilation, Climate Change, Environmental e-Science. Keith research focusses on ocean reanalysis and the recovery of climate change signals. He is also involved in the Rapid Climate change program focussing on the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation. He also works with the operational oceanography community on improving ocean fields for ocean and seasonal forecasting. He is Director of the Reading e-Science Centre looking at developing improved ways of sharing and visualising the large datasets from models and satellites efficiently over the internet.
