Oxford e-Research Centre provides cloud computing resource
As part of its work with the UK National Grid Service the Oxford e-Research Centre has been working to deploy cloud technology within the centre.
Using Eucalytptus technology we have an infrastructure as a service cloud which researchers from the university will be able to utilize as registered users of the UK National Grid Service. This will also allow them to pool together the resources here in Oxford with similar ones in Edinburgh.
Over the next few months we will be investigating tools and technologies to allow users easy access onto not only our own cloud system but also Amazon Web Services, Flexiscale and in future other commercial cloud providers.
