The CCF is a technical advisory group formed to share knowledge and experience of parallel computing on clusters around NERC, and to advise NERC’s IT managers on technical trends and developments in cluster computing. It comprises representatives from most of NERC’s
major research centre and collaborative centres.
Summer School Aims
1. Develop the cluster computing user community at NERC.
2. Provide an opportunity for new and inexperienced cluster users to learn the basic skills involved in running parallel compute jobs on a cluster system.
3. Provide an opportunity for experienced cluster users to learn about debugging and code optimisation.
Audience
Scientific staff and students at NERC Research Centres and Collaborative Centres. 30 places are available, split roughly 50/50 between beginners and experienced users. In the event of
over-subscription, places may have to be allocated to centres on a pro-rata basis, dependent on staff numbers at each centre.
